ONE PERCENT…

As a new week and month are upon us, I started to reflect on the ways I’ve improved over the course of the last month. We may all strive to accomplish set goals, establish healthier habits or just simply be better than what we were the day before.

I’ve continued to read Atomic Habits written by James Clear and I’ve connected with the notion of improving just by 1% daily. I look at the areas in my life I want to improve:

  • become more of a “morning person”

  • improve communication skills

  • become less reactionary

…just to list a few.

The whole idea of 1% is the effect of small habits and/or changes over time will result to a bigger impact over the course of a year. So if we move the needle just 1% closer to our goal every single day, at the end of the year we will have improved nearly 37%. That’s INCREDIBLE!!

If your goals are to lose weight, receive a promotion, start a new business, run a marathon…what are the action steps you need to take to get to the end result. Then break it down into smaller 1% steps you can successfully accomplish daily.
